Tonphate Laxative pill works by acting on the lining of the lower bowel to stimulate peristaltic movement. This movement produces soft stools. Furthermore, action include enhancement of the epithelial barrier, increased adhesion to intestinal mucosa, and concomitant inhibition of normal flora adhesion, competitive exclusion of pathogenic microorganisms, production of anti-microorganism substances and modulation of the immune system. It produces an effect within 4 to 6 hours. Apart from its fast onset of action, the ability to give prolonged effect makes Tonphate Laxative pills the product of first choice.

Tonphate Laxative is used for the management of constipation, evacuation of the bowel before a radiological examination, and as a colon cleanser for both sexes. Tonphate Laxative is recommended as the first line of treatment before administering other course treatments. It is indicated for the management of abdominal and menstrual pains, dysmenorrhea caused by chronic pelvic inflammatory disease, type of menstrual irregularities caused by anorexia nervosa or ulimia, indigestion, flatulence, bloated stomach, parasitic worms in humans, and Amebiasis Infection.

Dosage: the dosage of Tonphate Laxative depends on the severity of the medical condition. The recommended dosage for adults (above 18 years): Two or three Tonphate Laxative pills (depending on the body weight), best taken at night after dinner with warm water (about 70 degrees Celsius, minimum of 50cl volume of water). Give 3 days’ gap (72 hours), and continue with 1 Tonphate Laxative pill daily for the next 3 days, best taken at night after dinner with warm water (about 70 degrees Celsius, minimum of 50cl volume of water). Adolescents (11 to 17 years): Half to one Tonphate Laxative pill (depending on the body weight), best taken at night after dinner with warm water, (about 70 degrees Celsius, minimum of 25cl volume of water). Repeat this procedure every 2 days, and stop after the 3rd day.
